The departure takes place very early in the morning, around 3:00 a.m., from the city of Cusco in tourist transportation heading to the community of Phinaya. The journey takes approximately five hours, during which it is possible to observe high-Andean landscapes and local wildlife such as alpacas, llamas, vicuñas, and vizcachas.

At sunrise, a typical Andean breakfast is enjoyed in Phinaya, ideal for acclimatizing to the altitude. The journey then continues by tourist transport for approximately forty minutes until reaching the Suyuparina (Quelccaya) Glacier. From the drop-off point, a short walk of about 15 minutes is taken to access the glacier, where there is free time to explore the area and take photographs.

At midday, the group returns to the community of Phinaya to enjoy a traditional lunch. In the afternoon, a visit is made to Sibinacocha Lagoon, one of the most impressive landscapes in the region. Finally, the return journey to the city of Cusco begins, with an approximate arrival time of around 7:00 p.m.
